Feb. 26 (Day 1)
I depart from Hamilton under balmy spring like skies. Uneventful flight from Pearson International Airport to Montreal, switch planes with all baggage intact to Sept-Iles by 3pm. Great to use those aeroplan miles finally (who wants to go to Sept Iles in March anyhow?).
Garret Conover picks up Janet, another trip participant from the airport and myself. Balmy, gray and warm in Sept Iles, feels like rain…not a great way to start 2 weeks of winter camping! Meet Mary and Maria and everyone else on the trip. Dinner at Chinese restaurant, complete with chicken balls and red gloppy sauce. Introductions are made and we size each other up.
